Bradie Harris, October Elks Student of the Month

It is a pleasure to announce that Bradie Harris has been chosen the October Elk’s Student of the Month for Bellows Falls Union High School.  Bradie, a junior, is the daughter of Traci and Shane Harris.

Bradie is a charismatic, hardworking and dedicated young woman.  She challenges herself with difficult classes and works hard to improve her skills. Clearly dedicated to learning and broadening her horizons,   in addition to taking a normal course load at BFUHS, she is taking two additional on-line courses. She is attentive in class, participates actively in class discussions, and offers insightful comments.   Always willing to help, Bradie is a pleasure to work with.

Bradie is a dedicated member of the BFUHS community, especially the BFUHS band. She goes above and beyond to exhibit excellence in her work, and she seeks every opportunity to challenge herself as a musician (studying new instruments, seeking new performance opportunities, and participating in competitive auditions), the result of which has earned her many accolades, including acceptance in the Vermont All State Band and performing this year as the principal clarinetist in the District Honor Band. By setting and modeling high expectations, as well as expressing a willingness to help others, Bradie is consistently a positive example for her peers. Bradie also performs with the Springfield Community Band, providing free concerts to the greater community throughout the summer months.

Through her position as the Executive Board Secretary, she is a valuable, active member of the BFUHS student council.  She is often one of the first to volunteer to organize and help with fundraisers   and community-related events.   A quiet leader, Bradie   serves as a good role model to the other members of the group.

Bradie is someone people can count on when they need help, a supportive word or a friendly smile of encouragement.  She is well liked by her peers and the staff at BFUHS. A conscientious student who cares about others, she    brings optimism wherever she goes, and BFUHS and the Elks are honored to have her represent us this month with this award.
