Bellows Falls Union High School has a Student Assistance Program with services including prevention, screening and referral for issues of alcohol, tobacco and other drug use, early intervention, and referral for treatment. Prevention efforts are focused school-wide by keeping students, faculty and staff aware of information and offering activities promoting healthy living. The Student Assistance Counselor can conduct confidential screenings and provide support and referrals for students demonstrating possible mental health or substance use concerns. Mandatory referrals are made when a student violates BFUHS’ substance use policy or athletic code of conduct related to substances. Please contact Heather Waryas in the SAP office at 802-463-3944 or email@example.com if you have any questions, concerns or would like services for your child.
In addition, our Student Assistance Counselor, Mrs. Waryas, facilitates three student groups at BFUHS. Above The Influence (ATI) and Our Voices Exposed (OVX) are both student-led prevention groups and all BFUHS students are welcome and encouraged to join. Not On Tobacco (NOT) is a 10-week Tobacco Cessation program. Students should contact Mrs. Waryas if interested in any of these peer groups.
