Team members from each participating State from the US and Providence from Canada had to present their knowledge in Wildlife, Aquatics, Forestry, Soils, the current event topic: Sustainable Rangelands, and create and deliver a presentation on the current issue. With this latter requirement, students remained in a room for about 6 ½ hours until their posters and speeches were completed for their presentations to be given on following day. Bellows Falls students commented that this was one of the most challenging activities they had to complete. Each day of competition was filled with learning more facts about the environment and by the end of the week students walked away with a greater appreciation for the nature around them and the need to advocate for the protection of the natural resources that fuel today’s economy. The Bellows Falls F team came in 37th place out of 57 competitors. The BF Envirothon team would like to thank David Deen & Associates of Putney, Chroma Technology Corp. of Bellows Falls, Myra Ashcroft of Westminster, The American Legion Club Post 37 of Bellows Falls, Abigail Dutton of Townshend, and The Windmill Hill Pinnacle Association of Saxtons River for sponsoring them in this competition. The team would also like to thank all the folks that so generously supported them through their fundraising efforts throughout the year.
